OK KINO is a Moldova-based womenswear brand. Through collections OK KINO try to combine the authenticity of native country with the contemporary fashion. Clean silhouettes, precise tailoring and delicate color palette is the base of each collection. Immersing into traditional Moldovan details is another important part of the brand. Exploring the national heritage, creative directors Darya Golneva and Denis Caunov carefully work with ethnic and cultural symbols and codes, reinterpreting them from a new minimalism perspective. At OK KINO we care about ethical attitudes towards the environment and production. Therefore, we create high quality garments made to last, using carefully selected fabrics.
COLLECTION 07
We continue to look for the new within the familiar. We're drawn to forms shaped by necessity, daily life, and time — how garments are extended when outgrown, how they deform with wear, how a hem becomes a tool for gathering crops.
We grew up in a place where clothes are made to last. Where they're adjusted at home to live another year. This is a natural process, and we want to look at it more closely.
In many Moldovan villages, houses are still whitewashed with lime. When you lean against such a wall in dark clothing, white traces are left behind. That light residue, left by a passing gesture, has become an important tone for us. White is the main color of the collection.
We also continue to explore the theme of relocation. Migration remains part of life here. In this collection, some garments look as if they've spent a long time folded in a suitcase — with creases, stitched-in folds, softened edges. We introduce color — burgundy, light blue, dusty sand — not as accents, but as reflections of the everyday: grapes, lime, clay, earth.
